AFP sensitization meeting for medical and health workers was held on Wednesday, 22nd May 2019 at the Conference Hall of Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board, there were 40 medical and health workers in attendance. The purpose of the meeting was to sensitize medical and health workers on AFP surveillance and the Polio Eradication Initiative in Rivers State. The monthly Disease surveillance and Epidemiology data review and training meeting was held on Friday, 17th May 2019 at the Conference hall of Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board. There was a total of 65 attendees which included; 20 Disease Surveillance and Notification Officers (DSNOs), 24 Assistant Disease Surveillance and Notification Officers (ADSNOs), 4 Environmental Surveillance (E/S) Officers and 17 State Officers. The Senior Executive Course (SEC) 41, 2019 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, were in Rivers State on Tuesday 14th May, 2019 to study how Community Based Insurance Scheme has been successful in funding Health Care Coverage in some part of the State.
